The Birelart South Africa Official team ended the 2019 Northern Regions Rotax Max season on a high note at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday (2 November 2019).
Mattao Mason was a shining star in Bambinos, qualifying in 3rd and claiming 2nd place finishes in all three heats. He will definitely be a driver to watch in 2020!
It was a bitter sweet weekend for Tshepang Shisinwana who bid farewell to the Bambino class. He qualified on pole position and won the first heat. Tshepang finished 6th in race two and 5th in the final heat. He walks away from 2019 with both the regional and national championship titles.
Matthew Morrell put in a solid performance in Mini Max. He set the 3rd fastest qualifying lap and went on to take podium finishes in the first two races. Matthew crossed the line 4th in the final heat of the day.
Jordan Brooks had a good outing in Junior Max, qualifying 8th, in a field combined with Senior Max. In his own class, however, he started from 4th on the grid and finished the first race in 3rd place. Jordan took 2nd in race two, before claiming yet another podium in the final heat.
DD2 Masters driver, Brandon Dean, used the weekend to find his feet in a very competitive class. He finished 13th in all three heats.
