Idube has become the “home away from home” for the Birelart South Africa team, who has a number of competitors who participate in the KZN regional series. With this experience, the team believe they will have the advantage at the third Round of the 2019 South African Rotax Max championship, which is taking place over the weekend. (10 August 2019)
Tshepang Shisinwana is looking strong in the Bambino class and is currently leading the championship by seven and a half points. He has taken two national race wins this season.
It will be Mattao Mason’s first national race with the team. Mattao had the opportunity to participate in a regional race at iDube two weeks ago, winning two of the three heats. This result will be a huge confidence booster for the youngster.
Dhivyen Naidoo will be taking on the massively competitive Micro Max field. The KZN driver will be hoping to capitalise on his home ground advantage and improve on his championship position. Dhivyen is third in the points, one point behind the driver in second.
Matthew Morrell is another “Red Army” driver currently in a podium position. Some solid results have put Matthew third in the Mini Max Championship and he will be feeling confident after claiming the silver spot in the recent iDube regional.
Shrien Naidoo and Connor Donovan have become accustomed to racing each other for position at iDube. This time, however, they will face some tough out of town competition.
Connor is currently fifth in the point’s standings, approximately four points ahead of Shrien in sixth.
Bradley Liebenberg will be looking to take a win in DD2 and further develop the DD2 chassis for the team.
Hoping to be hot on his heels, will be Dominic Lincoln who has now settled in the bigger DD2 kart. Dominic is tenth in the championship and only needs four points to move up a position.
